Further to the strategic agreement announced at the European AES Convention in March 2003, CEDAR is pleased to announce the availability of Retouch for Pyramix, which was demonstrated on stand 928 at the 115th AES Convention, in New York. Retouch for Pyramix offers the power of the original Retouch, and also incorporates CEDAR's new preview mode, which allows users to audition the audio within Retouch without rendering the restoration back into Pyramix itself. This means that users can perform multiple processes on a section of audio, auditioning the results at each stage until the clean-up is complete. Also added is the ability to load a full minute of material into Retouch itself, making it possible to see and process extended problems without selecting multiple regions of audio and treating them one at a time.
Gordon Reid, Managing Director or CEDAR says, "We first worked with Merging Technology in 1997, and we have been following the rapid development of Pyramix ever since. Clearly, Retouch for Pyramix will provide exactly the kind of clean-up features and capabilities that Pyramix users require."
CEDAR Retouch™ was introduced in February 2002, and quickly became an industry standard for cleaning and repairing damaged audio. Unlike other restoration tools, Retouch allows the user to define the temporal and spectral content of the unwanted sound, and will eliminate noises as varied as coughs, squeaky chairs, page turns, the creak of a piano pedal and even car horns, with no unwanted side-effects or artefacts.
